About GreatValue Proverbs
GreatValue Proverbs were inspired by the birth of my son in December 2023.
I have always loved and been encouraged by the book of Proverbs in the Bible. 31 books written by the wisest man ever, Solomon, left to his son. His best words of advice, things to look out for and encouragements.
My intention with GreatValue Proverbs was to humbly imitate the book of Proverbs in the best way I could. I acknowledge that I am not an especially gifted writer. Nor an especially gifted analyzer of Scripture… I am not Solomon, I am just a normal dude. Which is why these are called “GreatValue” Proverbs. These are the Wal-Mart version of Proverbs.
These are not name brand. Not fresh. Not farm to market. Not locally or responsibly sourced. This is not your Whole Foods brand devotional. Nor Costco. Not even Kroger. This is Wal-Mart brand, GreatValue proverbs. I.e… This is just the common man’s devotional of the many things God has been good to teach me through this point in my life.
These are little lessons that God has taught me and been good to me along the way that I felt compelled to write down, not forget, and prioritize passing along to my little guy. They are intended to be little nuggets of wisdom couched in silliness/funniness. (I came to find that landing both (1) a meaningful lesson and (2) an actually funny joke was pretty difficult to do at the same time… But nonetheless, that is the intention on each of these… If 1 or both of those things don’t land… Sorry.)
Couched in silliness and fun because I’ve found that the most “sticky” lessons (lessons that stick in my brain) in life are typically fun along the way. So that is why I included memes in each of these devotionals. The hope is to get a little chuckle… Attach a little something to the lesson to allow you/me/my son to remember them.
There are 52 of these devotionals in total. All of them already written. All of them already scheduled to be released each Thursday morning throughout 2024 at 9am. (Classic CPA move).
So subscribe to the newsletter if you would like to follow along. I would consider it an honor!
